I almost left this post free of words.  What do I need to say really?  Bubbles?  The kid loved them (so did I for that matter, I've always been a sucker for a bubble bath!).  A New Zealand based company with an awesome ethos?  Tick!  Yeah, so I knew I was gonna like this stuff even before they sent it out - but that was some serious bubble bath action!  SOOOO much fun!  And to top it off, some super frothy shampoo action, also lots of fun!

I asked to review this product because, as you can see, it is a fragrance free bubble bath.  I get contact dermatitis from any citrus, or citrus-based product - which can be quite a pain considering how many lovely products contain citrus (especially cleaning products - hello gloves)!  On the flipside, I absolutely LOVE citrus in all its forms, and find the smell of citrusy things divine...  So for the two of us to get some fun out of a bubble bath, it has to be without citrus.  I have also noticed that Eleanor gets hives when she eats too much citrus, so it was a precaution for her too...

While I did miss the lovely bathy smell of a bubble bath, I was very thankful that we were both able to hop out of the bath without horrible rashy skin, yay!  And the amount of bubbles that stuff produced was beyond my wildest dreams!  It felt totally luxurious, and Eleanor (as you can see), just could not get over how fun those bubbles were... She even let me do some fun hairstyling with the Foaming Hair & Body Wash, and it only fell apart when it came to washing the foam out (usual bathtime story).  All in all, excellent fun, excellent product, and excellent to find a company that refrains from putting nasty stuff in their products.

I was drawn to this product first and foremost because it is run by a real-life mama, who created the brand in order to "meet what seemed to be a growing need for natural, functional skin care products free from harsh ingredients" Taken from their website...  That sounded like something right up my alley, and, like I said, the fact that they produce fragrance free products for those of us with sensitive skin, made me even more determined to trial their goods.   I've used both products multiple times since then (read: Eleanor has been given multiple spikey hairdos since then) and I honestly feel very happy with both.  Even better, Rebecca has offered to give one of you a bottle of each, yuss yuss, double yuss! Entry is easy peasy, just make sure you are a follower of this blog (which I'm sure you already are), and then leave me a comment telling me which Made4baby product you would love to try (or have already tried, and love).  I'm putting this on my wishlist.  Though I didn't get stretchmarks last time, it just feels so nurturing rubbing oil onto a pregnant belly doesn't it?  Entries close on Wednesday the 17th of August... Extra entries if you blog/tweet/facebook about it...  I'm so sorry my international friends, this one is just for NZ too.. I promise you that the next one will be all inclusive! Giveaway now closed

Blog readers can also receive a 10% discount by using 'darkhorse' as a promocode at checkout.  Win-win!

*Incidentally, at what stage is it no longer cool to have baths with your kiddos?  Do you wear togs to avoid awkwardness?  Do you 'hippy' it up and walk around your house naked?  Are there a set of socially accepted rules, or do you just hang free?  I'm kinda joking, but kinda serious too...  Tell me.

  1. We'd definitely like to try the bubbles! Eleanor was a great promoter. I have no idea when you should start covering up, I guess when kids get aware, embarrassed. Our wee girl is 1 1/2, so no togs in our house. Bath time is Dad time every night. It's a great catch up time, as she's always happy(even if tired) to have a bath.

  2. ahh, cuteness!! please count me in! Also, the boys still shower with their dad (Finleys almost 3 1/2), no awkwardness yet with him. I've only just stopped doing it myself because he started to ask a few too many question about things that I wasn't quite ready for! probably much different for girls though ;o)

  3. wwe wondered about the bathing thing a few years ago with Jada (being a girl) and bathing with the boys (all about time-saving here!!). we decided we wouldn't make a big deal about it until she, or the boys, did.
they're all pretty aware of body parts and have a natural curiosity but mostly oblivious/ not interested because it's not really treated like a big deal.

  4. These look grrrreat! Actual volume. Their massage oil for sleepy-babes looks a treat too.

We're still co-bathing/showering - three girls (me included)...we're takin' it day by day. I know my first memories are from about age 4...and that's a factor for me in when I think it will end (personally) - I don't want Esky to be able to conjure a picture of her naked mother in her head - but her and Ivy will be able to keep goin' strong!

  5. Haha you are right - little E's face in those pics tells us how great the product is! Thanks for the discount ;)
Andrew is citrus allergic too so I understand where you are coming from.
I still bath/shower with Ella and so does Andrew. I don't think it is an issue and I think it goes a long way to make bodies "normal". We don't walk around nude as such haha, but we just don't make a fuss about bodies. I hope this adds some info to your thoughts about it. :)

  6. We're big Made4baby fans in this house. Love the botty balm (no "double dipping- yay!) and the bubble bath is divine!!!
My son and daughter enjoy their bath together, but the oldest is only 2.5yrs. We don't tend to join them, but have no problems with it.

  7. I brought theses bubbles about a month ago!! My daughter just loves them. She trys to eat them too. Knowing that they have no chemicals makes me feel so better about using it. Also don't cause dry skin which is great.
Only one problem i had......There is never enough in the bottle!!!

  10. Hi. Loved your pictures, great to see a natural bubble bath with lots of bubbles! My husband and I take turns having a bath with our little girl (nearly 3). No akward questions yet... but guess she is learning that boys are different to girls.

  11. Seriously, products make me nervous. My babe is due in 2 weeks and it seems like every product is jam packed with nasties!! I'd love to try the bottie balm. Poor little bottoms, and then they have chemicals plastered on them to 'make them better'.

I have a very clear visual of my Dad walking down the hall naked to get a towel out of the cuppboard. I have no idea how old I was, but i don't ever remember bathing with my parents or siblings even though I have photographic evidence of it happening regularly!!

  13. I'd love to try the pumpy foamy washy stuff! I'm not a follower, not that you're not one of my fav blogs, but because I'm an I.T retard & I can't find your 'follow button?'. On the nude thing...my son's 11 & he see's me nude in the b-room. I just warm him my white legs might blind him, the girls just tell me my tummy looks like a babies still in there (sigh) & the kids are fine about streaking around the house in front of each other. I think it's about how much of a deal we the parents make. xx
