When we were little, we had some friends who lived in a pretty 'flash' house (it wasn't really, but through the eyes of little hippy kids it was pretty amazing - they had colour television and white flour so they were pretty crazy cool). They had a set of 70s style yellow glasses, and for a very long time both Rosa and I were convinced that the water inside those glasses was actually liquid gold. We would get ridiculously excited about having a drink whenever we visited, practically begging to have some 'gold water'. Kind of like spinach ice-block treats.
I rediscovered this golden glass tea cup awhile back, while unpacking the kitchen things in our new house, and was pleased to remember the purpose of it. Eleanor pulled it out the other day and requested some water. It's only a matter of time before I have her convinced that water out of that cup is something pretty darn special. Childhood is so magic.
