On the other side of the camera

It's not often that I emerge from behind the camera, but since my photographer sister moved home there has been twice as much photo snapping, and I can't always hide behind my lens.

I edited this second image, so any bad cropping is solely due to me.

I'm very grateful to have snapshots of me and my kids, which are scarce in these parts.  And Rosa-May has such skill in capturing those moments that might otherwise go unnoticed.  I've learnt so much from her since I started taking photos again, and the bestest news is that she is going to come here and teach you guys some cool photography tips and tricks too!  Yuss-pants!  In the meantime if you want to check out her photos and illustrations, pop in here and visit her...

  1. Wonderful, what a generous sister you have (or are you paying her in peach jam?). That second shot is just gorgeous. Looking forward to learning more about how to take better photos.

  2. beautiful! I always try to remember to take photos of the girls with me or the hubby in them. It's so hard! but I know we'll treasure them in the future, and the kids will want to know what their 'old parents' looked like when they were little ;)

  3. I need a photograph-y sister! All of the photos of me and the kiddos are always self-timered, it's not easy to remind Abraham to pick up the camera and he hardly ever thinks of doing so by himself.
Can't wait for the hints and tips! Yay!
    (Also, you are gorgeous.)
