In the waning summer light...

I feel like I have so much catching up to do!  I haven't been keeping up to date with all your lovely blogs (nearly missed out on entering TWO fabulous giveaways! A custom made bag by Emma Makes, via Green Valley Crafts, and a very adorable hobby horse via Mend and Make New).  Lucky I have friends who keep me in the loop. 

Do you know that feeling when you're kinda looking forward to the end of summer because life will just magically settle when the cooler weather is welcomed in, and then as the heat slooooowly dissipates you find that you are just as busy as you ever were?  Yeah, that reality has hit me this week.  I'm glad that my resolutions were really just goals, because so far I don't feel very close to achieving any of them.  On the other hand, life has felt pretty good these past few weeks.  All in all, despite a few hiccups now and then, summer has pretty much treated us well this year.

I'm a bit behind on creative commitments.  Actually, quite seriously behind really.  Somehow our daily life has bleed into crafty, creative time, and I really have to wrangle each and every creative hour.  And the urge isn't there, so much.  Even the writing thing, I get a little done here and there, but I've been quite conscious of these two little guys, and their rapid-growing-up-ness lately.  Writing, drawing and sewing have lost some of their appeal.  Catching kisses and coaxing out giggles, that hasn't.  They're pretty fun, these everyday companions of mine.  I'm a lucky mama.
