Nine
This is my favourite week yet.
Eleanor was SO COOL that afternoon. Super contented and really thrilled to be exploring down the same river that I played in for hours when I was her age (she's leaning against the Mermaid Rock). We actually spent some time up-creek from here when I was in labour with Garland. It was magic then too, hanging out with my girl, my guy, and my dad, cooling our feet in the stream while I timed contractions (later that day I walked down to the beach with my mum to collect seaweed, arriving home in time to jump into our car and rush into hosp. to deliver our son).
Garland enjoyed his usual dust bath at my dad's house.. Both kids really get a kick out of collecting up dirt and wood chips and sticks, and delivering them into the variety of cardboard boxes Pop leaves out. Who said kids need flash toys??
In other news, the facebook sale is going way better than I thought! I listed SO many things, with the hopes of clearing out just a few, and honestly, so many items are already sold out! It looks like I will be able to pay for more car registration after all, ;-).

These are beautiful - quite magical! :)
ReplyDeleteI think it is such an awesome thing that you nurture your children's outdoor playtime...when I was little my brother and I spent hours playing outside doing much of the same, splashing in streams and building little stick "fairy houses"...I always hope that in this day and age, when my husband and I have children they will enjoy the simple imaginative outdoor playtime that I did as kid..to choose tree-houses over video games. I truly believe that was a major part of what made me who I am (and what I value and appreciate) as an adult...
ReplyDeleteAlso love your bit about the water and your labor. so beautiful
xo
Visiting from Che and Fidel... love that first shot. It looks like it should be an advertisement in a magazine!
