Travel Treats Giveaway - CLOSED - Winner announced!

So I've been planning this giveaway for quite some time, and the longer it's taken me to get it together, the more prizes I've ended up accumulating.  Well, that's not such a bad thing is it?!   Last month I (quietly) celebrated my four-years-of-blogging birthday, wheeee!  It really has been quite some journey for me, made so much better thanks to your lovely comments, and the precious friendships I've made through blogging.

By way of thank you, I have organised this rather special giveaway:

While I clearly have a summer road trip theme going on, I'm sure that the winner will enjoy these prizes regardless of whether they have a vacation or a stay-cation planned this year.  One winner will take home:

1. Ipad Mini Case/Clutch from Blackbird And The Owl.  This ridiculously cool clutch was custom designed just for this giveaway!  Peggy let me choose the colours and patterns, and I do rather love it!  Check out her site to customize your own cute clutch.  Valued at $70
2. Sailor Spy clothing voucher.  I've shared something of my love for Sailor Spy here, and really, I think this is a New Zealand designer we all need to keep an eye on!  Nin has currently put some of her beautiful stock on sale (as well as some LOVELY new pieces), the perfect time to spend a winners voucher!  Valued at $75
3. Leather Wrap-Around Watch from PetitJuJu.  Throw away your phone (well okay, don't literally throw it away) and keep holiday time the old-fashioned way with this way pretty watch.  Valued at $75
4. Hand Painted Butterfly Scarf from ArmeniaOnSilk.  Beautiful and soft - this reminds me of the gentle summer's breeze.  Perfect for spring and early summer, or for driving open-air in a convertible ;-).  Valued at $70
5. Sukie Diamonds Cotton Tote Bag from Wocolate. These colours make my heart sing!  Store your travel snacks, or all your must-have travel accessories in this pretty bag.  Wocolate is a new discovery, and that shop is filled with products I adore!  Valued at $39.95
6. Blue and Green Wooden Bracelet from Jull Made.  I love this bold, statement piece!  Jull Made has so many lovely pieces, and very affordably priced too!  Valued at  $21
7. Ceramic Adjustable Ring from imkajewelry.  I love the gentle hues of this ring, feminine and bold, with a touch of geometric shaping.  So pretty...  Valued at $25.50
8. Weleda Skin Food.  Weleda has long been one of my all-time favourite companies (I even worked there at one stage, that's how much of a dedicated fan I am).  This skin food is a really lovely product, with a pretty citrusy scent.  Valued at $21.90
9. Trilogy Rosehip Travel Collection.  A more perfect travel companion could not be found.  Trilogy makes lovely organic products that smell divine, and all packaged in travel sized portions - sweet!  Valued at $39.90
10. Karen Murrell Rymba Rhythm Lipstick.  Love this shade!  This beaut lipstick is made from natural products and environmentally friendly, and also, the packaging is divine.  Amaze.  Valued at $29.95
11. Blackmores Digestive Bio-Balance Capsules (45 capsules).  These can be used by the whole family, to help keep the bacteria in your digestive system nice and healthy.  So you know, you stay nice and healthy during your holiday :-).  Valued at $29.90
12. Blackmores Travel Calm Ginger (30 capsules)  For the travel sick (I NEED this for our next trip), a non-drowsy formula for family members over 6 years.  Valued at $16.90
13. Blackmores Tart Cherry Sleep Capsules (60 tablets) I don't know about you, but I often sleep terribly while I'm holidaying, and this might just be the answer to my problems.  A natural, non dependancy-inducing product - sounds perfect.  Valued at $44.90
14. Penny Scallan Juicy Apple Creative Set.  Cuteness!  A nice easy way to keep older kiddos occupied during a long journey, or during quiet hours on holiday.  Valued at $30
15. Toffee Apple 3-Seasons Sleep Sack from The Sleep Store.  I seriously want one of these for Garland.  Cute and so helpful, because if there's one thing little people love to do, it's to kick off those blankets.  Fyi, the winner will receive a pink striped Sleep Sack.  Valued at $129
16. Thermal Lunch Bot from Munch Cooking.  Make your kiddos some delicious, hot (okay, warm) travel food, and store it in this super handy insulated food container.  Sounds like a good idea to me!  Valued at $24.99
17. Munch Cookbook from Munch Cooking. Okay, not technically a travel item, but a v. useful wee resource non-the-less.  And just because I like to float my own boat ;-), I just got nominated as one of NZ's best kiddo food blogs in the Munch Awards, hehe!  Cookbook valued at $28
18. Rabbit clothing voucher.  Eeee!  I missed out on winning the voucher given away at Mend and Make New (though one of my RL friends won it, woot!), and now I get to give away a voucher myself!  Rabbit is definitely my favourite new kiddo clothing discovery, and probably yours too, amiright?!  Valued at $30
19. Little Monster - Sherbert from Needlebot.  Um.  CUTE!!!!  That's pretty much all I need to say about this prize, other than, AFFORDABLE!  The perfect little travel buddy for a little one.  I may just have to ask santa to purchase one of these for one of my littles this Christmas.  Valued at $20
20. Penny Scallan Juicy Apple Junior Wheelie Bag.  Love these wheelie bags!  This is part of a new range put out by Penny Scallan, and I adore the vibrant red.  That's one suitcase you'll easily spot on the conveyer belt!  Valued at $58
21. Felt Shark Mask from Struckla and Peach. I know that my kids would get a kick out of sporting this mask during a long and boring road trip.  I'm sure it would make you pretty popular with other travelers too!  Valued at $15

That's over $900 worth of prizes, all for one lucky winner! These prices have been converted into New Zealand dollars, just so you know.

And while I'm at it with the thank yous, this giveaway brings together some truly gorgeous items, thanks to some very generous businesses.  If you have a moment to spare in your internet wanderings, do go and visit some of the sites listed above.  There are plenty of Christmas or Just-For-You gift ideas in this list...

Okay, the details.  This giveaway is open to New Zealand readers, and I will draw a winner on the 27th of September.  To enter, leave a comment below telling me where your ultimate road trip would take you.  You do need to be a follower of The Golden Adventures (via GFC or Bloglovin') to enter, and you can gain extra entries by sharing this giveaway on facebook, twitter, pinterest or your own blog.  Please leave a separate comment for each entry.  Good luck!! xx

Thank you all SO MUCH for your enthusiasm over this giveaway, I was pretty excited about it myself :-)

I let random org pick a winner, and then counted and re-counted to make sure I got the right number.  Couldn't be happier to announce this winner...

Yay!!!!  Can't wait to organise the next big giveaway, though I *may* have a little breather for now.  Congratulations lovely Dee x

  4. Wow- what a giveaway! My ultimate road trip would be reliving the one I did in the North Island when I was 8, but this time with my sons and husband. Spending a couple of days in Wellington to check out Te Papa, off to Rotorua Thermal Hot Springs, then finally into Auckland for Rainbows End. I had a blast when I was 8 and I bet my kids would love to do this road trip too.

  5. i have travelled a bit, but never really got into america (i'm the only person in the world who hates new york) but my husband recently got out his new england, maine, marthas vineyard trip photos from when he was young and i'm obsessed and desperate to travel around that area. slow paced, eating the local produce and listening to folk music, enjoying the turn of season (summer to autumn ideally) and culminating in nantucket.
    ahh, one day...

  14. Wow - awesome giveaway Stella! Congrats on 4 years of blogging. My ultimate road trip would be over in the UK - I love the idea of taking my child(ren) over in a few years and doing a tour of all the places that are important to my childhood - favourite zoo's and castles, where my Nan's house used to be, places I lived, where I went to school etc. A whole heap of nostalgia for me and hopefully showing my child(ren) their roots and where they have come from :-)

  19. Awesome prizes! I would really love to road trip around europe, I think it would be a cool way to get out of the main centers and unearth some of the untouched corners that aren't often on the tourist agenda. When I lived in the UK I hired a car for a weekend in germany and it was awesome - we ended up in a tiny town ( with a castle!) where hardly anyone spoke english... it was so quaint. Hopefully I will get to see more of it someday!

    ReplyDelete
  68. Wow, so many goodies!

I've been lucky enough to already experience two ultimate road trips - one across America with a dear friend and his grown-up children, and the other around Ireland with another great friend. What made both trips really special was not so much the locations (although both were amazing!), but my travelling companions. On both trips my companions were of a like mind with me about exploring the by-ways and taking random side roads just because a sign looked interesting.

So my ultimate road trip could be anywhere in the world, but it would definitely be in the company of at least one good friend, preferably several, and it would involve a lot of laughter and wonder and exploring and getting off the beaten track, and following dirt roads to the middle of nowhere just to see where they went.

  99. What a cool bunch of awesomeness Stell, you have been a very busy lass. That's such a hard Q, there are so many places I dream of road trippin' to, especially over these wet, windy, cold winters days. But..... the ultimate would be a South Island summer road trip, towing a caravan with my babes from top to bottom and back again, hitching a tent and seeing old friends at the top and Nana Jenny at the bottom, and plenty of stops in between. We haven't been before and would just love to, so this would be top of the list.

  100. We will be doing a big road trip this summer. Rented a campervan to travel and see north and some part of South Island . Driving down to Wellington then taking the interislander . It's a bit ambitious for us because we will be traveling with our 2 kids as well it will definitely be not boring :)

  102. wow.. amazeballs giveaway Stella!!! Right now I would love to take my tribe on a roadie round the South Island. I am so aware that I only have 3 years left before I start saying goodbye to my children as they begin to spread their wings. (wait NO.. THREE YEARS!!!!) We haven't been around the mainland as a family and really really need to do this pronto.

  103. Wow! What an incredible giveaway. Like many generation y'ers I have travelled all over (18 countries by last count) including some very out of the way places like Kygyzstan (where?!?) BUT there are some gorgeous places right here I have never visited. So, my ultimate road trip this summer would be the Coromandel - beaches, jandles, sun, choc bar icecreams from the four square, sand in between toes, the smell of hot bodies and sunblock ... bliss.

  104. I think a road trip around France would be amazing (especially if I could drag along someone who spoke French)...I'd be keen to see all the cute French countryside that you see in magazines and taste all the amazing food! I think my husband and son (14 months old) would probably rather just head to LEGOLAND in Denmark so we might have to head there after my dream road trip! (I'm a bloglovin follower)

  106. Hi - I thought I had already entered but can't find it! I love your blog and thanks for 4 years of authentic posts.
My current road trip plan involves a trip to any snow because my 3 year old has spent the winter telling everyone
a snowman joke - What does the snowman say? - I smell a carrot! She cracks herself up and so we are going
    'Snowing" in the next holidays.

  107. Would love to have a road trip up to Rotorua. I still remember my trip as a child and I'm sure the kids would be as fascinated with the area as I was at their age. Jxx

  116. Woohoo! Check out that loot! My ultimate road trip would be from the top to the bottom of NZ, checking out all the beaches along the way- east coast on the way down and west coast on the way back up. And maybe driving along Route 66 in a convertible (may have watched "Crossroads" too many times when I was younger..)

  119. Yay Stella!!! I figured out how to follow on bloglovin, now I don't have to stalk via FB hehe. My ultimate roadtrip would be Auckland to Blenheim over a few weeks, maybe a month over Summer! It would be in a Holden EH Special, teal or a metallic sky blue .. Bench seats so Amelia can ride up the front with me and Sa, caravan behind us (the ones that fold down? You know the ones?).. Auckland to Welly, we did this trip at least 30 times as kids, so would stop off at most of the towns down the main line to relive roadtrips with mum! Catch the ferry over to Picton (hope my caravan fits), then head down to Blenheim! Picking up red and yellow cherries from streetside stalls. And apricots! I tried my first nachos in Blenheim when I was 7. True story! I'm picturing blue skies, beaches, lakes, campgrounds, family backyards, campfires, and Amelia wearing sweet summer clothes and yellow sunnies with white polka dots. Oops this is a novel, can you tell I've dreamed of this for a while? ;D x Happy blog birthday xx
