Port O Call

Port O Call is a perfectly whimsical and completely over-the-top cafe & design store situated in Ahuriri, Napier.  If you are visiting Hawkes Bay and want a quirky and fun place to take your kids, this is the perfect spot.

They offer a mean High Tea, with everything served on vintage china (choose your own tea-cup - #win).  While you wait, there is a pile of dress-ups to rummage through, you know, to get ya in the mood for tea-drinking.  The store is also jam-packed with vintage inspired items, and even some handmade beauties, def worth hunting through for treasures.

I imagine this place is pretty busy during Art Deco weekend, though the cafe is at a sufficient distance from Napier CBD to offer an uncrowded and peaceful dining experience.

Located smack bang in the middle of Ahuriri Beach and Napier Port, you can walk off your macarons with a salty-air stroll afterwards.  Find Port O Call at 2/9 Nelson Quay, Ahuriri, Napier, or check out their website here.

  1. Thanks so much for this post! We are touring the central North Island for the first time this coming summer and this is just the sort of thing I need to know about: gorgeous spots that may be missed if we simply walk the Main St. :)

  2. I loved that place too when we lived there 15 years ago!!! x

  3. Oooo this looks like such a delightful place to visit!
