Adventures in Spring

I'm gonna admit it right now, homeschooling is the best decision we ever made. Which is not to say that we will never reassess, particularly if we find ourselves in the right schooling situation, but this year has been (mostly) SO much fun for all of us.

One of our favourite 'field trips' this term was visiting a local goat farm.  The kids (human ones) made the most of the 'experts' (some very patient family friends) and followed them around asking a trillion questions. I can guarantee that Garland now knows waaaaaaaay more about goats than I do.

Sorry about the photo spam.  It was such a pretty day, I couldn't resist.  There were daffodils and what appeared to be a robin (!!!), a blackbird nest and some delicious cape gooseberries.  We came home with some strawberry seedlings and the sense of having spent the day perfectly.  #springtimevibes all over the show.

I love ticking off everything in our homeschool planner, but I love spontaneous field trips even more.  Of course, you don't have to be a homeschooler to have adventures like this, it you just end up with more days to choose from...

P.S. when (goat) kids cry, they sound spookily human.  We were all a little relieved when this bubba returned to its mama...
