Most people stop in on Tane Mahuta as a matter of course, but it took us 6 years to take our kids in, despite passing through Waipoua Forest several times a year. That's pretty slack. We dropped in a few months back and it was such a short and sweet detour I kicked myself for not doing it sooner...
